Where Pocket Prep is stronger

Where PhlebBot is different

  • It teaches, not just tests. One adaptive tutoring session in four phases (assessment, instruction, mastery, exam readiness), with readiness tracked for every exam domain. Missed concepts come back later in the session and on later days. AI tutor included (Google Gemini), up to 60 tutoring turns a day.
  • References you can open. Explanations show CLSI, OSHA or CDC references when a matching reference is found, and replies without one are flagged. Students argue about outdated answer keys; a reference lets you check the standard yourself.
  • Three exams, each weighted to its own blueprint. NHA CPT, ASCP PBT and AMT RPT. Not NCCT NCPT or AMCA.
  • Lower 3-month price. $15/month, or the Exam Pass: $30 for your first 3 months. Recurring. The Exam Pass continues at $15/month unless you cancel; we email you 7 days before it renews. Cancel in Settings in 2 clicks.
  • Free practice with no account. 10 free practice sets (228 questions): general tests, NHA CPT, ASCP PBT and AMT RPT sets, and topic quizzes. No account needed.

Who should choose which

Choose Pocket Prep if

  • you study mostly on your phone and want a native app;
  • you learn by grinding through hundreds of fixed questions and a mock exam;
  • you want extra access if you do not pass;
  • you also need prep for other medical exams in the same subscription.

Choose PhlebBot if

  • you want a tutor to explain why, and to keep coming back to what you missed;
  • you want references you can open when an answer surprises you;
  • you are taking the ASCP PBT or AMT RPT and want practice weighted to that exam;
  • you study for about three months and want the lower price for that period.

PhlebBot vs Pocket Prep: common questions

Is PhlebBot a Pocket Prep alternative?

Yes, for students who would rather be taught than drill a fixed bank. Pocket Prep is a question-bank app with native iOS and Android apps. PhlebBot is a web-based AI tutor that asks you questions in a conversation, explains the answer, and keeps returning to what you missed. If you want an app and a large fixed bank, Pocket Prep fits better.

Which is cheaper for 3 months of study?

PhlebBot's Exam Pass is $30 for your first 3 months, and it continues at $15/month unless you cancel. Pocket Prep's 3-month plan price and billing are in the table above, with a link to the page we read them on. Both renew if you do not cancel.

Does PhlebBot have a mobile app?

No. PhlebBot runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and there is no App Store or Google Play app. Pocket Prep has both, which is a real advantage if you study on your phone.

Does PhlebBot cover the ASCP PBT and AMT RPT as well as the NHA CPT?

Yes. PhlebBot covers the NHA CPT, ASCP PBT and AMT RPT, and weights practice to the blueprint of the exam you choose. It does not cover the NCCT NCPT or AMCA exams.

Does PhlebBot offer a guarantee like Pocket Prep's?

No. PhlebBot makes no pass promise and does not refund partial periods. You can cancel in Settings in two clicks and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Can I try PhlebBot before paying?

Yes. The free practice sets need no account, show why each answer is right, and score you by exam domain. The AI tutor itself needs a paid plan.
